Fashion Jr. Sakala and Kevin Vandendriessche played for the last time today in the sea air and on the familiar Oostende turf. Former teammate and good friend Franck Berrier surprised Vandendriessche with a nice farewell gift after six seasons with KVO.
"That ball went to the outside and both Jack and I were behind the ball so this was never a real scoring chance and therefore not a red. But anyway, we also have to put our own hand in, it certainly wasn't good enough from us after the red card either."
Before the match against Gent a number of players were honoured. Sakala played his hundredth game for KVO, while Hjulsager received the Puis/Verbiest trophy as most deserving player.
Hendry was not fit to play and was replaced by the young German Jäkel. The first chance was for the home team, but Yaremchuk was blocked by Tanghe.
