KV OOSTENDE AND THE TACKLE - PARTNERS FOR YOUTH
De Takel was founded in 1988, starting from a number of needs and challenges in the Ostend welfare and youth work landscape. After growing in phases, there are now three operations: a day centre, a youth home and a crisis centre.
The day centre focuses on supporting young people and their families in their upbringing by means of community work and contextual counselling.
The youth centre is a super-diverse leisure activity for young people aged 12 to 25.
Crisis Care is a small-scale initiative, for temporary accommodation of young people between 12 and 18 years.
The community work of KV Ostend is aware that it has a great social influence on daily life in Ostend. KVO would like to turn this influence into a positive factor in order to make a difference.
So there is certainly a 'similarity' between young people in all their diversity and with all their talents and a football club with players and staff.
-giving young people the opportunity to attend a football match
-attending KVO training sessions: players regularly go to schools in groups of two to testify about life as a professional footballer, with its opportunities and challenges. This program will also be presented in De Takel.
-There is the possibility to visit the stadium with a look before and behind the scenes, also with the intention to learn something about the functioning of a football club.
-To play matches (or to achieve something) you need to train and practice of course: possibility to drop by at De Schorre to see the players at work, for example during a bike ride or a trip.
-and finally -to really work together- there will certainly be some enthusiastic young people who will want to commit themselves as volunteers.
In this way, both organisations can bridgeTo get to know each other better and to build a broader and warmer society through human and sporting contact.
