All NewsEUPEN - KVO 0-2

KVO closes the league with a 0-2 win against Eupen. It was a typical end of season match with not too many chances. Ambrose and Albanese crowned their good game with a goal each.

The Coastal Boys made no less than six changes compared to the previous game. Hubert was allowed to take his place in goal instead of Scherpen. Jäkel, Duncan, Bätzner, Koziello and Atanga were also allowed to start the match.

Eupen started the match strongly. After three minutes Nuhu tapped the ball just wide. In the middle of the first half, KVO restored the balance until Duncan scored in the 28ste minute, he picked up a red card. The Coastal Boys were upset for a moment but were able to recover quickly. First there was a great kick from Albanese that landed on the bar. Three minutes later the opening goal for the Coastboys came after a great kick by Ambrose. So we went to rest with 0-1.

The second half started quietly with Eupen playing the ball around without too much threat. After 62 minutes there was a chance for Eupen. Prevljak scored but the whistle was rightly blown for offside.

The ball possession was mainly for Eupen in the second half. Nevertheless, KVO was able to counter dangerously a few times. For example, Nick Bätzner kicked from an angled corner into the penalty area. The Eupen goalkeeper Himmelmann picked out with a good save.

After 81 minutes it was touch and go for the Coastal Boys! Albanese received a long ball and saw that Himmelmann was too far from his goal. He kicked the 0-2 from just over the halfway line into an empty goal.

Eupen was upset after the 0-2 and could not respond anymore. Nuhu still had a water chance but he tapped the ball too far in front of him.

KV Oostende thus closes the season with a three-point win and a (provisional) 12the spot.
