EUROPE PLAY-OFFS - GAME DAY 6: STANDARD LUIK - KV OOSTENDE 1 - 3

Match report:
Blessin's team won 1-3 against Standard Liege after an excellent game, where captain Kevin Vandendriessche said goodbye in style with 2 goals.

The coastal boys took an early lead after a nice combination. The technically skilled Bätzner found the departing Vandendriessche with the heel and he beat Gillet in the short corner (0-1). The equaliser followed quickly when Balikwisha scored easily in front of goal (1-1).  The coastal boys responded through Ndicka but the Frenchman decided on Gillet. The visitors had the best chances while the home team had to make do with half chances. D'Haese saw his place ball go just over, while Ndicka hit Gillet's fists. The last chance before half time was for Bätzner. The young German skirted the goalie, but his effort was saved by Ngoy, who raced back to clear the line.

At half time D'Haese was substituted by Tanghe. The visitors came out of the dressing room eager to score a goal.  Captain Vandendriessche found Boonen and he kicked the ball through the post into the goal (1-2).For Vandendriessche his 'away game' was one to remember as he scored his second goal of the evening (1-3) on a pass from the substitute Thiam.. Blessin's team kept on playing after this reassuring lead. Ndicka did not make good on a Gillet miss, while on the other side Gavory trampled over a rare Liege chance. Leye's team saw off a well-combined Ostend team. In the end of the game Vandendriessche got his well deserved replacement and youngster Osifi made his debut at KVO.
