KM TORHOUT - KV OOSTENDE 1 - 3
The Coastal Boys did not let themselves be surprised again against an amateur team as it won smoothly 1-3 from Torhout on Saturday night after a calm mastery
Vanderhaeghe's troops started the game energetically with chances for Ambrose and Berte. The home team responded with a whirling shot at the crossbar. At the other end, goals from Berte and Ambrose were disallowed for offside. The deserved lead came after a foul on Ambrose in the sixteen. Just like against Harelbeke, Ambrose sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot (0-1). The devil was in the closing stages of the first half. First Pyck shot the Ostend goalie (1-1), after which Ambrose gave the Kustboys the lead again (1-2).
At halftime, De Schepper remained in the locker room and Cypriot recruit Fanos Katelaris made his first appearance in the Oostende main squad. The first chance after the coffee was for Berte who decided on a defensive leg. On the other side, the local supporters thought of the equalizer but Cardon's shot ended in the side netting. On the hour, the Ostend T1 changed its entire squad except for Tanghe and Katelaris. The visitors pressed forward with a number of chances. The substitute Musayev hit the underside of the bar with a hard shot, while Patoulidis shot wide from close range. Capon also had a go and hit the goalkeeper with a powerful shot. The third goal came after a well set up combination with Patoulidis as the final destination (1-3).
An easy win where the debut of Cypriot Fanos Katelaris was the main news of the day.
