KV OOSTENDE - KAS EUPEN 2 - 1

Oostende, fighting with a big heart, keeps the three important points at home after an exciting game of football.
The young Schelfhout was back on the crossbar for Coastboys, while Capon and Koziello returned to the starting line-up. Krämer's team had no selection problems and started with the strongest eleven.
The unfortunate Koziello left the field with an injury and was replaced by Bätzner. The home team started the game well but were caught cold by the Pandas when Prevljak grazed Schelfhout with an overhead kick (0-1).. The Kustboys responded with a sharp cross from Ndicka that nobody could reach. At the other end the Ostend goalie prevented a double goal when he cleared a slide from Cools. The home team did not let up, as Gueye saw his header saved by the Eupen goalkeeper. Embalo got away but his goal was disallowed for offside. Heris touched the ball with his hand after a scuffle in the visitors' area, but the VAR saw no problem with that and allowed the game to continue. Gueye pushed forward after losing the ball to the visitors, but a returning defender managed to get in a corner. With half-time approaching, Bätzner rallied the visiting defence but standout keeper Himmelmann prevented the deserved equaliser.

The home side escaped a bigger deficit after a home defender made a mistake on the ball, but Prevljak had mercy this time and hit the outside of the post. This was the signal to step it up a notch. The Pandas were unable to get out of the predicament as the home side put on the pressure and played with a big heart. This resulted in a shot from D'Arpino hitting the bar and chances for Bätzner and Gueye. The Senegalese was given a move in the penalty area, but after the intervention of VAR, De Cremer reversed his decision. Gueye got the deserved equaliser with a groundbreaking shot that beat the visiting goalie (1-1). Hardly had the game kicked off, or Gueye decided on Himmelmann. The deserved lead came after Bätzner grazed his compatriot with a shot (2-1). After an exciting end, the deserved points remained on the coast.
