KVO AND ZULTE WAREGEM HONOR FRANCK BERRIER
Sunday, KVO plays its first home game since the death of club icon Franck Berrier. The club does not want to let this go unnoticed, and that is why they are launching an action together with Zulte Waregem - where Franck also played 127 matches.
The players of both clubs will play with the name of Berrier on their shirts. After the game, the shirts will be offered for sale at an auction. The proceeds will go to the cardiology departments of the hospitals AZ Sint-Jan, Campus Henri Serruys and AZ Damiaan. The money will then be used to give a few sessions of basic resuscitation techniques to both the A-core and youth teams. This will teach them how to react adequately, both on and off the field, should something happen.
Zulte Waregem has also chosen to invest the proceeds in first aid training for supporters, volunteers, players and youth staff, and the other half of the proceeds will go to VZW Hartekinderen, an association for children, young people and young adults with a congenital heart defect and their families.
Before kick-off there is one minute of applause for the 'Little General' and the kick-off itself is taken by his former team mates and friends Kevin Vandendriessche, Sébastien Siani, Xavier Luissint, Jérémy Dumesnil and Baptiste Schmisser.
