KVO - KV MECHELEN 2-4

After a weak first 50 minutes KVO was already down 0-3. The team showed resilience afterwards and came back to 2-3 but Hairemans finally broke the deadlock. On top of that three players are suspended for the trip to OH Leuven next week.

Malinwa started the match with a quarter of an hour delay. This resulted in a few small chances in the opening quarter. In the 26^e Cuypers scored the 0-1 after some bad defending by the Coastal Boys. Immediately after the goal, KV Mechelen were back in it again, with goalie Cuypers heading just wide. Ten minutes after the first goal the goal was already 0-2. Storm took the left flank and found Mrabti at the far post. He tapped the ball in easily. Just before the halftime signal the home team came into the game. Amade pounced on a loose ball in Coucke's arms. Then Ambrose came inside and shot the ball into a corner from outside the sixteen. KV Mechelen went into the dressing room with a deserved 0-2.

Alexander Blessin couldn't stand it any longer and intervened at the break. Gueye and Bätzner replaced Ambrose and Amade. That didn't turn things around immediately, on the contrary. Five minutes into the second half Mrabti was there again. Cuypers' cross was tapped in easily. KVO seemed to have run out of steam.
But our boys reacted immediately. Five minutes later, the two substitutes provided the connection. Bätzner to Gueye who scored his ninth of the season. KVO got better in the match but still had to watch out for the Mechelen counters. Mrabti lobbed Hubert but was whistled back for offside. KVO's pressing was better now, Gueye's header went just wide. Ten minutes before the end KVO managed to score the equaliser. Jäkel headed the ball into the net on an excellent cross from Rocha. KVO now smelled blood and went looking for the equalizer. After another loss of the ball Hairemans got one on one with Hubert and the books went down. Koziello got his second yellow card in the end.
A defeat that KVO has only themselves to blame after a very weak first half.
