KVO PLAYS 1-1 DRAW IN PRACTICE MATCH AGAINST PLEDGES
Thursday morning a practice game was scheduled between the A-core and the U23. In the A-core it was mainly players who were less active in the past weeks who came into action. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The first half was characterized by a lot of midfield play and few chances. The youngsters came close to scoring the opening goal early in the match but Hubert saved. At the other end, Boonen came closest to scoring but Schelfhout pushed his header into the corner.
There were more chances in the second half. Medley hit the post and Duncan hit the keeper but the third time was the right one. Albanese played himself free and kicked in the bottom corner: 1-0. Just one minute later Albanese had a chance to score his second goal of the game when he was alone on goalie Badu, but he parried the ball well. For a moment it looked as if KVO would increase the score further but Kurt Bataille's troops didn't let up and even managed to equalize. Andy Musayev, playing strongly, beat a defender and finished off the ball, 1-1. Moments later a very active Albanian egg so na still made sure of the victory but his shot was kept off the line. So the 1-1 final score remained on the board after a pleasant game of soccer against an at times very cleverly playing U21 team.
Formation: Hubert, Patoulidis, Duncan (80′ Urhoghide), Wylin, Tanghe, Medley, Amade, Batzner, Koziello, Boonen (70′ Gueye), Albanese.
