NEW STRIKER COMES OVER FROM FRENCH FIRST DIVISION

KVO has strengthened its position with striker Thierry Ambrose. The 24-year-old striker comes over from the French first division FC Metz and signed a contract until 2024 + option. Bienvenue Thierry !

Thierry Ambrose grew up in Auxerre's 'centre de formation' but in 2013 Manchester City brought the then 16-year-old Frenchman to England. He went through the youth series there, where he made his mark in the UEFA Youth League - the youth version of the Champions League - scoring eight goals. In the reserves he also found his way to the goal easily.

In the 2017-2018 season, he was first loaned to Dutch side NAC Breda. There he became the club's top marksman with ten goals. He also delivered five assists there.
The following season the striker gained experience in his homeland France. He was rented to second division Racing Club de Lens. Ambrose impressed at Lens and the following season he made the step from the Ligue 2 to Ligue 1. This time it was FC Metz that hired him. The French were so satisfied with Ambrose after the season that they bought him permanently from Man. City last season.

After two seasons at Metz, the striker now finds himself in Belgium, at KV Oostende.

Gauthier GanayeThierry was the number one candidate to become our new striker. In ideal circumstances we would have completed the transfer sooner, but a striker like Ambrose was worth waiting for. I absolutely wanted him, he was already on our radar since last summer. With him, our selection is already largely complete, although we are still looking at opportunities."
