PRACTICE MATCH: KVO - RWDM 2-0

Because the league game against Zulte Waregem Alexander Blessin was in a hurry to find a sparring partner. He found it in RWD Molenbeek from 1B. KVO beat the people from Brussels 2-0 at the Schorre after a satisfying game of soccer.

The Coastboys started the game eagerly and immediately forced a series of corner kicks. In the second minute there was already a first chance for KV Oostende, Ambrose hit the keeper. On the half hour a double chance for the visitors. First Keita tried with a volley, his attempt went wide. Then followed a distance shot by Rommens, Hubert went well flat. At the end of the first half KV Oostende pushed on. Ambrose's shot went nicely towards the store hook, but the Molenbeek goalkeeper made a good save. Less than a minute later, the same Ambrose gave a ball in front of goal, the defense of RWDM clumsily worked the ball into their own goal, 1-0, immediately the halftime score.

In the second half, Blessin changed much of his team. D'Haese was sent deep, but could not finish in front of the keeper. Ten minutes into the second half and a lapse in the Oostende defense, a RWDM striker was able to get to Hubert alone, but he made a brilliant save with the tip of his foot. The ball went just wide. Two minutes later on the other side D'Haese played a good ball off to Atanga, but he lacked speed and was just short of the target. In minute 65, KV Oostende received a free kick from the right side. Albanese painted the ball wonderfully onto the head of McGeehan, who headed the ball into the far corner, 2-0. Further into the second half, one more chance for RWDM, but Hubert glanced the ball wide of goal.
The Coastal Boys showed good soccer at times and seem ready for the home game against Antwerp, next Friday.
