TRAINING MATCH: KV OOSTENDE - KMSK DEINZE 4 - 0
An at times smoothly combining Ostend won with convincing figures from the ambitious Deinze.
Vanderhaeghe again puzzled his team with tester Johansson taking his place under the bar. The Swede was able to enjoy the pleasant summer weather as he was hardly put to work.
Deinze came to De Schorre with a lot of experience. De Belder, Hindrickx, Prychynenko, Vansteenkiste, Blondelle and Schuermans played for years in the Jupiler Pro League.
In the initial phase, the visiting 'Tigers but these turned out to be milk teeth as the East Flemish hardly featured in the game. The coastal boys immediately took the second division team by the throat with chances for Musayev, Stiers and Gueye. Just after half an hour, the deserved opening goal came when an Austrian was pushed down in a rather flashy way when deciding on goal. Gueye countered the goalkeeper from the spot (1-0). Just before that, the visiting goalkeeper whipped a hard header by Gueye out of his goal area. Just after the opening goal, there was a commotion after a red card for a Rocha who reacted too violently. After consultation the Cape Verdean was allowed to stay on the pitch. Despite Oostende's dominance the score remained 1-0 until half time.
At halftime, the Ostend coach brought fresh blood onto the pitch. This resulted in chances for substitute Berte, Albanese and Kvasina. The Coastal Boys further deepened the score through Albanese who found the goalie in default (2-0). The next goal came in the name of Kvasina who, after a foul on Berte, rushed the eleven meter mark past the goalkeeper (3-0). The final chord was for Berte, who finished off a nice action by Kvasina on the turn (4-0).
A nice Oostende win against a very ambitious Deinze. Tomorrow the next friendly awaits in Oudenburg against fellow series member Zulte Waregem.
