RFC SERAING - KV OOSTENDE 2 - 3

The coastboys remain in a shared first place after a deserved victory over Seraing.

For the meeting against Seraing, coach Blessin changed his team again. The unfortunate Boonen was replaced by Bätzner and in front of him Gueye got a new striker in Ambrose. Kvasina was relegated to the bench. Before the start of the match, the lamented club icon Franck Berrier was honoured with an impressive minute of silence.
The visitors started the best with 2 half chances for Gueye. After 10 minutes the first full blown Oostende attack came. Dietsch was unable to get a grip on Ambrose's shot, but Gueye slid the rebound wide. On the other side Mouandilmadji kicked wide just in front of goal and Kilota headed over the Ostend goal. Just before half time the Kustboys were dealt a serious blow. Maziz brushed a free kick past an opportunityless Hubert into the top corner(1-0).
The Coastal Boys started the second half brightly. Gueye dribbled his defender with power and popped the equalizer past Dietsch (1-1). The visitors didn't waste any time and made the score even higher. Ambrose rounded the keeper and tapped in the winner (1-2).. The home side responded with a ball from Jallow on the post after Eastern lost possession in midfield. At the other end Hendry headed a corner from D'Arpino onto the bar. Amade was shown his second yellow card and had to retire early. Just after the red card substitute Kvasina had a chance to put the game in a final corner, but his shot fell to Dietsch. At the other end Mouandilmadji headed a corner into Hubert's hands and Jallow squandered yet another chance. After an assist by Kvasina, Bätzner beat the Liege goalie with an angled slide (1-3).. It was still exciting in the end after the second goal by Maziz but the Liège players couldn't get any further than the tying goal (2-3)..
