SELECTION AND PREVIEW KVO - AA GENT

Selection (20): Hubert, Schelfhout, Ndicka, Jakel, Theate, Medley, Tanghe, Hendry, D'Haese, Patoulidis, Osifo, Amade, D'Arpino, Bätzner, Boonen, Rocha, Ambrose, Kvasina, Gueye, Berte.
Injured: McGeehan, Capon
Remarks: Capon suffered a groin strain while giving the assist at Genk. Next week's game will probably be difficult for him as well.

Preview:

On game day 3, the Coastal Boys receive the ambitious AA Gent in the Diaz Arena. Hein Vanhaezebrouck's team will come to the coast motivated, as they missed the start of the new season with 1 out of 6.

Our next opponent started the competition with steep ambitions but after 2 match days with 1 point we are at a provisional 14the place. On the first day they lost 2-1 against STVV, while on the second day they drew 2-2 against Beerschot in their own Ghelamco Arena. In European football the Buffaloes were held to 2-2 against modest Riga from Latvia, after trailing 0-2.

Vanhaezebrouck took on Beerschot with the following selection: Bolat, Hanche-Olsen, Ngadeu-Ngadjui, Godeau, Castro-Montes, Odjidja-Ofoe, De Sart, Operi, Hjulsager, Bruno and Tissoudali. Okumu, Oladoye, Malede, Kums and Bayo filled in.

As always, the East-Flanders were very active on the transfer market. The Gentenaars took a number of strong players from the competition. We think here of Hjulsager (KV Oostende), Bruno (Zulte Waregem) and De Sart (KV Kortrijk). Other newcomers are Fortin (Standard Liege), Operi (Chateauroux), Okumu (Elfsborg) and Bayo (Celtic Glasgow).

In addition to the departure of top scorer Yaremchuk (Benfica), Andrijasevic (Zhejiang Professional), Dejaegere (Toulouse), Kvilitaia (Famagusta), Kleindienst (Heidenheim), Plastun (Ludogorets), Arslanagic (Göztepe) and Dorsch (Augsburg) sought their footballing happiness elsewhere.

The most notable Buffalo is Andrew Hjulsager who was voted the most deserving player by the Ostend fans last season. On the bench we see Nicolas Lombaerts another old friend. He has been assistant to Vanhaezebrouck since this season.

Last season, KVO won 2-1 against the Buffaloes in the regular season. In POII, Blessin's team was handed a 0-4 beating.
