On Wednesday, Markus Pflanz and co. play a catch-up game on the field of Zulte Waregem. On game day 22 the game was postponed due to a covid outbreak at the home team. Both teams can do good business, because with 27 and 25 points respectively, both teams are just above the relegation zone. De Kustboys lost their game with OH Leuven on Saturday evening with 1-3. Zulte Waregem lost 2-0 to KRC Genk on Limburgian soil. The first goal came after an owngoal, the second shortly after the break was scored by Kristian Thorstvedt.
The away team made a remarkable change of trainers in December. Figurehead Francky Dury was pushed aside, De Fauw and Simons took over the helm. The duo started in December with a 6/6, but after New Year they only managed 2/12. An excellent opportunity for the Ostend boys to grab points.
In the first match, KV Oostende lost 0-2 at home to Zulte Waregem. Both goals came from Jelle Vossen. The latter did not play in Genk because of a slight injury. David Hubert is suspended again.
