For the six-point match between Zulte Waregem and KVO, a number of key figures were missing from both teams. Simons could not count on the golden duo of strikers Vossen and Gano. The Coastal Boys were missing a number of players for various reasons. This gave guys like Sakamoto, Atanga, Fortes and Capon their chance.
In the first half, the best chances were for the Coastal Boys but Ambrose, D'Haese and McGeehan failed to kick the visitors into the lead. Ambrose, like McGeehan, decided on a returned defender. D'Haese found himself alone in front of Bossut after fumbles in the home defense but banged on the home goalie and Jäkel headed a corner kick from Sakamoto onto the top of the crossbar. The home team was especially dangerous during the third quarter. Govea and Seck found a strong Hubert in their way and Capon saved a header from Seck off the line. In between, a goal by Kutesa was disallowed for offside.
Both teams started the second half unchanged with the home team playing towards their own supporters. The first chance was for the home team. De Neve got away but was stopped by Hubert. On the other side McGeehan kicked the ball towards the stands. After a nicely played attack D'Haese decided to hit the side netting. D'Haese sent Sakamoto into the street and he slid the ball past the chance-less Bossut. However, after more than four minutes of deliberation, the goal was disallowed by VAR for borderline offside. Ndicka had a chance to take the lead, but his effort went wide. Jäkel also had a great opportunity but could not find the opening. At the other end Seck headed via the ground into Hubert's hands. In the closing stages Hubert crowned himself as the one to take home a point.
