FIRST WINTER PURCHASE IS IN !

KVO has already made its first winter transfer. American right back Kyle Duncan (24) has signed a contract until 2025. He comes over from New York Red Bulls and arrives in Belgium on December 1st. He will only be eligible to play after the winter break in January., when the transfer window officially opens.

Kyle Duncan attended the renowned New York Red Bulls Academy as a youth player. At the age of 18, he signed a contract with the French Valenciennes, but after two seasons he returned to the Red Bulls. From that moment on, he developed more and more into a key player for this top club in the Major League Soccer. In 77 games as a right back he scored 5 times and gave 8 assists. In December 2020, he was also called up for the American national team for the first time.

Gauthier Ganaye: "Kyle is a player who has been on our radar for a long time. Because the season in the US is now over and his contract ended there, we can bring him in for free, despite stiff competition from several European clubs. Because he grew up with Red Bull's style of play, he fits our system perfectly: he's a modern right-back who combines speed with good crosses. On top of that, he arrives in Belgium on December 1st, which means he will train with the team for six weeks before playing his first game after the winter break. Because the season in the US has only just ended, his physical condition is very good and he'll be ready to play immediately. So I'm very happy that we were able to secure this deal so early. We want to come out of the winter break strengthened and we still have a lot of time to work diligently and make sure we bring extra quality to the positions we need."

PS: a fun fact, Kyle Duncan is the nephew of former 'Golden Ball' George Weah (ex-Milan and PSG).
