KVO STELT NILS VANNESTE AAN ALS NIEUW SPORTIEF MANAGER, VERANDERING IN BESTUUR
KV Oostende heeft Nils Vanneste met onmiddellijke ingang aangesteld als Sportief Manager en kondigt tevens een bestuurswissel aan.
Nils Vanneste was de voorbije vijf jaar actief als onze sportief jeugddirecteur en neemt nu de sportieve taken over van de vertrokken Gauthier Ganaye.
Clubverklaring Raad van Bestuur: “Met Nils Vanneste stellen we een sportief manager aan die de club en de competitie kent en de afgelopen jaren prachtig werk heeft geleverd binnen onze jeugdwerking, getuige de titel van de U21 en de bekerfinales van diezelfde U21 en U18. Onze jeugdafdeling is een goed geoliede machine en talloze jongens zijn ook doorgestroomd naar de A-kern. Nils heeft een grote kennis van de Belgische jeugd- en U21-teams en we zijn ervan overtuigd dat hij jonge en ook Belgische spelers kan aantrekken om naar KVO te komen. Volgend seizoen kunnen drie van de twaalf clubs promoveren uit 1B, dus we moeten dit momentum proberen aan te grijpen om direct terug te keren naar 1A. Maar laten we nederig zijn en de komende maanden gebruiken om hard te werken. We realiseren ons dat er fouten zijn gemaakt en nemen hier ook onze verantwoordelijkheid voor. We willen met concrete acties het vertrouwen van iedereen terugwinnen, te beginnen met het opzetten van een nieuwe sportieve structuur met een sterke lokale identiteit. De trainingen beginnen vandaag, wat betekent dat we heel snel zullen schakelen om een nieuwe technische staf aan te stellen en ook te werken aan een vernieuwde spelersselectie.”
Nils Vanneste: “Het is voor mij een eer om deze kans te krijgen en ik zal mijn best doen om binnen het beschikbare budget een zo sterk mogelijke ploeg samen te stellen. Er is de komende maanden veel werk aan de winkel, te beginnen met het aanstellen van een nieuwe technische staf. De gesprekken zijn gaande en ik hoop dat ze zeer binnenkort een eindfase zullen bereiken. Ik wil in ieder geval in de mate van het mogelijke meer inzetten op Belgische spelers in ons beleid, met oog voor lokale identiteit.”
KVO kondigt daarnaast ook een bestuurswijziging aan. Aandeelhouder Krishen Sud treedt toe tot het bestuur, ter vervanging van Paul Conway van minderheidsaandeelhouder PMG. Er wordt ook gezocht naar een nieuwe CEO.
Raad van Bestuur: “We willen de Oostendse identiteit weer aanhalen en versterken. De fans moeten zich weer herkennen in hun club, moeten voelen dat we rekening houden met hun emoties, zoals dat in de sport hoort te zijn. We hopen openhartige gesprekken met de fans aan te gaan en zeer binnenkort volgt er ook nieuws over de abonnementenverkoop voor het nieuwe seizoen.”

KV Oostende has appointed Nils Vanneste as Sportive Manager with immediate effect and announces a board change.
For the past five years, Nils Vanneste has been active as our sporting youth director and is now taking over the sporting duties of the departed Gauthier Ganaye.
Club statement Board of Directors: “With Nils Vanneste we appoint a sporting manager who knows the club and the competition and has done a wonderful job with our youth in recent years, as witnessed by the U21 title and the cup finals of the same U21 and U18. Our youth department has been a well-oiled machine and countless boys have also gone through to the A-squad. Nils has a great knowledge of the Belgian youth and U21 teams and we are convinced that he can attract young and also Belgian players to come to KVO. Next season, three out of twelve clubs can be promoted from 1B, so we must try to seize this momentum to immediately return to 1A. But let’s be humble and use the coming months to work hard. We realize that mistakes have been made and we also take responsibility for this. We want to regain everyone’s trust with concrete actions, starting with setting up a new sporting structure with a strong local identity. The training sessions start today, which means that we will switch very quickly to appoint a new coaching staff and also work on a renewed players’ squad.”
Nils Vanneste: “It is an honor for me to be given this opportunity and I will do my best to put together the strongest possible squad within the available budget. There is a lot of work to be done in the coming months, starting with the appointment of a new coaching staff. The talks are ongoing, and I hope they will reach a final phase very soon. In any case, I want to focus more on Belgian players in our policy, with an eye for local identity.”
KVO also announces a change to its board, as shareholder Krishen Sud will join, replacing Paul Conway of minority shareholder PMG. A search for a new CEO is ongoing.
