INTERIM CEO BENJAMIN EHRESMANN GEEFT SUMMIER OVERZICHT VAN HUIDIGE STATUS VAN DE CLUB
Eind oktober werd Benjamin Ehresmann aangesteld als interim-CEO van KV Oostende. Met bijna 15 jaar ervaring in het profvoetbal beschikt hij over een enorme schat aan kennis waaruit hij kan putten. Zo bekleedde hij diverse managementfuncties in het voetbal, waaronder hoofd scouting/rekrutering voor de Red Bull Group in Leipzig en New York, evenals voor Philadelphia Union in de Major League Soccer. Hij werkte ook samen met Alexander Blessin bij RB Leipzig. Momenteel is hij ook lid van de Raad van Bestuur van FC Den Bosch.
“We kozen er welbewust voor om eind oktober dit nieuws nog niet wereldwijd te maken,” aldus de 37-jarige Duitser. “We werken binnen de club namelijk hard en in alle discretie met volle focus aan een mogelijke overname die in deze uitdagende tijden voor de nodige stabiliteit moet zorgen. Hoewel ik dit overnamedossier graag al eerder had afgerond, hebben complexe problemen uit het verleden ervoor gezorgd dat het langer aansleept dan voorzien. Maar het is belangrijk dat die problemen in alle vertrouwelijkheid worden behandeld. Dus hierover extern communiceren, is dan ook niet aangewezen, wat mij volkomen begrijpelijk lijkt. We werken onvermoeibaar verder om deze club een mooie en stabiele toekomst te bieden, zowel sportief als financieel. Dit is ons voornaamste doel. Naar mijn mening beschikt KVO over een enorm potentieel en ik heb goede hoop dat alle belanghebbenden -spelers, staf, clubpersoneel, de jeugd, fans, sponsors, de stad, …- kunnen samenwerken en zo kunnen schrijven aan een nieuw, inspirerend, zegevierend en duurzaam verhaal voor deze prachtige club. Benjamin Ehresmann was designated as interim CEO of KV Oostende at the end of October. With almost 15 years of experience in professional football, he has a vast wealth of knowledge to draw upon.
Previously, he held a variety of management positions in football, including Head of Scouting/Recruitment and Chief Scout for the Red Bull Group in Leipzig and New York, as well as for Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer. He also worked with Alexander Blessin at RB Leipzig. Currently, he is a member of the FC Den Bosch Board of Directors as well.
“We have intentionally chosen not to release this news globally yet,” stated the 37-year-old German. “We all work very hard, calmly and with full focus on a potential club takeover and associated stability during these challenging times.
While I do wish this case had closed sooner, past very complex issues have caused it to take longer than originally anticipated. It is imperative that these matters are handled with utmost discretion and we cannot communicate about them to the public, which I think is absolutely understandable. We are working tirelessly to provide this club with a prosperous and stable future in both sporting and financial sectors. This is our primary objective. In my estimation, KVO possesses immense potential, and I am hopeful that all stakeholders – players, employees, club staff, young people, fans, sponsors, the city, among others – can collaborate and script an inspirational, victorious, and most importantly, sustainable new chapter for this beautiful club.
