KRC Genk - KV Oostende 3 - 4

The Coastal Boys score four times in a blistering game of football and take home the three points.

After the 0-3 defeat on the first day of play, Blessin made one change. Capon replaced Ndicka. Newcomer Ambrose started on the bench. Onuachu was conspicuously absent from the match.

The game started at a high tempo with chances for both goals. Dessers and Ito threatened the home team, while Gueye and Boonen created danger in the Genk box in the early stages. The home team took the lead after 20 minutes when Heynen headed a Trésor cross past Hubert (1-0).. On the half hour Dessers got away and he found Bongonda. The outfielder simply tapped the ball past Hubert (2-0).. The equaliser followed quickly when Capon found Kvasina by chance. The striker kicked the ball past the chanceless Vandevoordt (2-1). After a corner kick by D'Arpino, Medley had a chance but his effort went over. Just after the Ostend goal, the injured Capon had to make way for Ndicka.

The coast boys started the second half eagerly and immediately scored a goal. After a corner from Ndicka, Gueye headed the equalizer past an opportunity-less Genk goalie (2-2). The home team took the lead again when Bongonda headed a corner for Hubert (3-2). Oostende's reaction was immediate. The debutant Ambrose in turn headed the equalizer past Vandevoordt (3-3).. The home team kept threatening through Trésor and the lurking Dessers. At the other end Boonen saw his chance for the Oostende lead go just wide. The Coastal Boys actually took the lead when Jäkel deviated a shot by Rocha into goal (3-4). Logically the home team went in search of the equaliser but the Oostende defence held firm.
