For all sorts of reasons (covid, injuries, Africa Cup, etc.), the Blessin fielded an experimental eleven. Acquisitions Alessandro Albanese and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto filled in after halftime, American Kyle Duncan stayed in his home country to put the necessary paperwork in order.

The Austrians started the game with plenty of chances. Ex-KVO keeper Kudimbana showed that he was not out of the woods yet, as he saved his team from an early deficit. The goalie was nevertheless floored by the inevitable Gueye, who popped in on the turn (1-0). The most beautiful goal was scored by Amade, who beat the visiting goalkeeper with a volley (2-0).. After the double lead, it rained goal chances but Kudimbana single-handedly made sure it remained 2-0 until halftime. He was right on top of attempts by McGeehan and Capon, among others.

During and after the break, Blessin made a lot of substitutions. A number of youngsters like Badu, Brock and Boufath got a taste of the big work, but also the newcomers got some playing minutes.
